Bright pink peepers
Why you’ll love: Neutrals are fun, but fuchsia is everything. This look is a twist on a smoky eye. “We’ll see intense pops of color throughout the season,” says makeup artist Brittany Lo.
How to do: Apply a bright pink cream eyeshadow all over the lid using a dense shadow brush, as well as under the lower lash line (use a damp liner brush). Then, blend the edges with a clean, fluffy brush. Keep the rest of your makeup low-key.
TRY: KVD Beauty Vegan Super Pomade Eyeliner, Shadow & Brow Pigment, $23, kvdveganbeauty.com
Why you’ll love: Haven’t nailed the cat eyeliner yet? Same here. That’s where eye stickers come in. Not only do they make prepping easier, but you can find them in fun metallic finishes.
How to do: “Add eye stickers as the last step in your makeup routine,” says celebrity makeup artist Melissa Hernandez. All you need is tweezers to put them in place (try your upper lash line or above your crease).
TRY: Lime Crime Holographic Face and Eye Stickers, $14, ulta.com
Why you’ll love: Student government discourse? Presentation of European history? A bright, bold pout is total power play.
How to do: Smudge a vibrant red onto your lips using a brush, helping you create color without the harsh pigment straight out of the tube. Blot with a tissue to make sure it stays on all day (even during lunchtime).
TRY: LA Colors Pout Chaser Lipstick in Jelly Much, $2, lacolors.com
baby blue eyes
Why you’ll love: Late for the bus? It only takes a few minutes (we timed it) to make a statement.
How to do: Add some gloss to your lips, then a coat or two of colored mascara to your lower lashes. Suddenly your eyes look bigger and brighter.
TRY: About-Face Teal Mascara, $16, aboutface.com
Why you’ll love: Do you like to wear your hair out of your face *and* down? It’s the best of both worlds.
How to do: “Part your hair down the middle and gather a one-inch section near the hairline,” says celebrity hairstylist Clariss Rubenstein. “Add a little texture spray for extra hold.” Twist the hair back, gathering more hair as you go, then secure it behind your ear with a bobby pin.
TRY: R+Co Trophy Shine + Texture Spray, $33, randco.com
Why you’ll love: This look deconstructs classic braids, giving you a perfectly undone and (super pretty) result. Can you say car ride style sessions?
How to do: When you step out of the shower, apply a styling cream to help smooth out flyaways and frizz. While your hair is damp, braid two or three sections and secure with an elastic. “Leave a few hairs around the back of the neck to give it a more romantic touch. Then secure the ends with a chic scarf or a piece of ribbon,” suggests hairstylist Bri Orozco.
TRY: Bread Beauty Supply Elastic Bounce Leave-In Conditioning Hair Cream, $28, sephora.com
Why you’ll love: A braided hairline gives modern Bridgerton vibes – and that’s what we’re here for. Plus, it makes for a great protective style if you’re wearing your natural hair.
How to do: Apply moisturizing serum to hold hair in place, then part your hair down the middle and dutch braid (go to girlslife.com/iti to find out how) just the face-framing pieces on either side, sticking close to the root hair. Add accessories once the braids are pinned behind your head, suggests Orozco.
TRY: It’s a 10 Miracle Hair Styling Serum, $28, itsa10haircare.com
Why you’ll love: “The faded color is perfect for back to school because it still has the remnants of bright summer hues while transitioning into the warmer tones of fall,” says Orozco.
How to do: It works best if you have lighter highlights (otherwise the pale color won’t show). “Look for semi-permanent pastel shades, then apply them to blonde hair,” says Orozco. Thinking of bleaching your hair first? Leave that to a professional, she advises.
TRY: Curlsmith Rose Gold Hair Makeup, $15, curlsmith.com
Why you’ll love: Honestly, who doesn’t want to feel like a queen? An ornate headband is the perfect reminder to hold your head up high.
How to do: Wear your hair up, down, however you want. Then place your headband in line with the top of your ears to show it off.
TRY: Lux Accessories 2 Row Floral Flower Headband with Silver Crystal Rhinestones, $14, amazon.com
Why you’ll love: “Putting on a wide headband is the perfect solution for those mornings when you can’t do much but still want to look well-dressed,” says Orozco.
How to do: Add a headband to a ponytail or wear your hair down, with or without bangs, says Rubenstein. For a silky look, finish with oil or shine spray.

From zig to zag
Why you’ll love: “Not only will these retro ’90s headbands pull your locks away from your face, but the way they part the hair makes for a really cool and stylish look,” says Orozco.
How to do: Apply a leave-in conditioner to damp hair, then comb through from roots to ends (it will leave your hair super smooth and almost wet). Then use the headband to comb the top few inches of your hair and put it in place.

Why you’ll love: This design is super easy to recreate while still being very chic.
How to do: “Apply a neutral shade all over. Once it’s dry, use washi tape to create the geometric shape on the side of the nail,” says celebrity nail artist Brittney Boyce. Paint the uncovered area black and let dry before removing the tape and adding a topcoat.
TRY: Pleasing Perfect Pearl Polish, $20, pleasing.com
Why you’ll love: Nothing says glam more than a set of pearls and they look even better on your nails. “Fashion has pushed us towards a super opulent, super luxurious look,” Boyce says.
How to do: “Start with nude polish, then use nail glue to attach individual pearls,” she says. “Gather them towards the cuticles, then spread them out a bit more when you reach the tip of the nail.” Or, you know, grab a set of press-ons with the design made for you!
TRY: Kiss Masterpiece Nails Heirloom, $12, kissusa.com
Why you’ll love: “Everyone loves custom nails,” Boyce says. Plus, it’s super simple and sweetly subtle.
How to do: If you’re confident in your calligraphy skills, try drawing your initials freehand with a thin brush. But if you want to make it easier for yourself, just add nail stickers on your favorite shade. “Once you’ve attached your decal, apply a clear topcoat to seal it so it doesn’t lift around the edges,” Boyce suggests.
TRY: Lottie London Stick To It Alphabet Nail Stickers, $7, us.lottielondon.com
Why you’ll love: “Jelly colors are on the rise – transparent red is taking the trend to a very high level,” says Boyce.
How to do: “Apply a layer of red polish, then lightly add a drop or two of remover with a small makeup brush just to the tip of the nail,” explains nail artist Gina Edwards. “Allow the remover to drip and separate the polish, creating a swirling, translucent effect.”
