Sharjah Museums Authority hosts first coffee bazaar at SHM

Sharjah24: A coffee bazaar is held for the first time at the Sharjah Heritage Museum (SHM), under the direction of Sharjah Museums Authority, from December 14 to 17 with the aim of connecting the past of coffee to its present and attracting the attention to coffee culture in the country and the world.
The four-day event will provide members of the public with a range of competitions and interactive activities, including discussions by experts to address the importance of the drink and how it is prepared.

A number of workshops for children and families, including traditional games and painting using coffee, will also be part of the event.

Visitors will get a taste of different types of coffee at a number of cafes participating in the bazaar while also having the option of using the coffee as a calligraphy ink to write their names every day between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. -20h00 every day.

A discussion moderated by Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of the Al Ramsa Institute, will discuss the vocabulary and phrases associated with coffee on December 15 at 10:00 am.

At 4.30 p.m. the next day, heritage expert Abdullah Al Hamour talks about coffee between present and past in the United Arab Emirates.

Support activities will start at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m.
