LaCollection x Aika launch NFTs with contemporary artist Yang Jiechang
LaCollection will launch an exclusive NFT drop in collaboration with Aika featuring the works of contemporary artist Yang Jiechang! The collection marks an exciting chapter in LaCollection’s mission to work with the world’s leading contemporary artists. According to Aika’s Aimie Ferry-Sauvaire, “We partnered with Lacollection to reach traditional art collectors on the web3 and metaverse through our VR gallery.”
OH (2022) NFT Collection
LaCollection and Aika curated OH (2022). The NFT collection celebrates Jiechang’s skills in traditional Chinese media, especially calligraphy. Moreover, it also aims to communicate the effect of monumental political events on the human experience. Also, “Oh” refers to his old works “Oh, My God/ Oh Diu”.
Through the collection, NFT enthusiasts can purchase Jiechang’s OH NFT artworks. They can also get Jiechang’s OH NFT music videos which showcase a unique insight into his creative process and the performance element in his work.
The NFT drop will be available on lacollection.io, between April 1 and April 17. At launch, LaCollection will release 100 editions of OH NFT music videos, sold for a fixed price of 0.2 ETH (around £455).
There will also be 10 editions of the final OH NFT artwork sold at a floor price of approx. £4,170. Each will include an original ink drawing by Jiechang as well as an invitation to Jiechang’s workshop in Paris.
OH’s NFT video will also be shown at Galerie Lafayette, ‘AiKa Virtual Reality Room’, and K11 Art Mall.
About Yang Jiechang
Jiechang was born in Foshan, China and currently lives and works in Paris and Germany. He had exhibited widely across Europe and Asia. Through his expressive style of traditional brushwork alongside the dialectics of pre-modern Chinese Taoists, he confronts the underlying social and cultural forces that shape today’s society.
Jiechang is also one of the few contemporary artists among the sea of digital artists in the NFT space. Hopefully, as the NFT industry grows and continues to evolve, we see more contemporary artists like him take center stage.
