An anti-aging1 Koishimaru Silk Subtle Glow Cream

On March 2, 2022, Kao Corporation (Yoshihiro Hasebe, Chairman) launched ABSOLUTE SILK ILLUMINATIVE CREAM (40ml, ¥20,000 (¥22,000 with tax)) by SENSAI, a prestige brand with global reach. ILLUMINATIVE CREAM contains Koishimaru Silk RoyalMTHE*2 , SENSAI’s original moisturizing ingredient. Formulated as an anti-aging treatment, the product visibly reduces wrinkles responsible for the formation of a dark shadow on the skin. A potent blend of hydrating and illuminating ingredients helps eliminate any dullness by improving fine lines and brightening the skin from within. This release complements the February launch of SENSAI CONTOURING LIPSTICK, a set of lipsticks that add shade through techniques applied in traditional Japanese arts (13 items of two types, between ¥1,500 and ¥3,500 (1,650 and ¥3,850 with tax) ).
Kao hopes to strengthen SENSAI’s presence as a global brand through the release of items that embody nuanced Japanese aesthetics and cutting-edge science.

SENSAI ABSOLUTE SILK ILLUMINATIVE CREAM is an anti-aging cream with an amply fresh and pleasant gel-cream texture. In addition to niacinamide, an active ingredient to improve the appearance of fine lines and prevent dark spots by inhibiting melanin production, ABSOLUTE SILK contains Koishimaru Silk RoyalMTIL, a moisturizing ingredient unique to SENSAI. A light application of the cream visibly softens shadows cast by wrinkles and blemishes in the complexion with ‘Shadow Care’, a unique approach in which dry, dull skin is brightened with nourishing hydration. The illuminating action conditions the skin to a translucent, clear and silky tone without residual shadows.

The Japanese revere the moon as an object of legends. The main advertising image refers to SENSAI’s Shadow Care concept. The image shows a crescent moon emerging from the shadow of the earth to reveal its beauty against the sunlight.

SENSAI CONTOURING LIPSTICK combines a soft, matte finish with a smooth texture achieved using a perfectly balanced blend of silicone elastomer and low refraction oils that inhibit shine. The creamy, fine-tuned texture is produced with a calculated blend of small portions of powder*3 . Inspired by traditional Japanese painting techniques, Sumi-Shadow pigments add a hint of shadow to define natural contours while the color itself brings out a subtle luminosity that seems to plump the center of the lips.
For each of the 12 colors, the pigment ratio has been subtly adjusted to create exceptionally seductive shades. The exquisite attention to detail and perfection reflects the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.
The slender lipstick holder is reminiscent of a brush pen used in Japanese calligraphy. The narrow width of the lipstick stick inside ensures that the color goes on with just one stroke, adding beautiful contours around the lips and at the corners. Inspired by Japanese lacquer, the brackets are fashioned in black with a touch of red applied to the inside of the cap.
