Japanese culture in the spotlight at the Qatar Foundation

The Japanese Embassy in Qatar, in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation, organized a Japanese cultural event at Education City – Multaqa building on May 19.
The event highlighted many aspects of Japan’s rich culture and traditions through a host of activities such as the art of paper-folding origami, traditional toys known as kendama, the kimono trials, in addition to the calligraphy name writing activity which was a success. among visitors.

The event came as another productive collaboration between the Japanese Embassy and Qatari institutions aimed at bringing the two cultures closer together, as well as enhancing mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the peoples of the two countries.
During the event, samples of Japanese food and traditional ceremonial dolls were displayed with an explanation to visitors about the importance of each item in Japanese culture.
Additionally, visitors were also enthralled with a karate demonstration by members of “Al-Sayeh Karate Center” and many of them lined up to take pictures with their favorite anime characters who were part of the cosplay from “Q-Cosplay”. The event sparked interest in Japan among visitors, many of whom expressed their wish to visit Japan in the near future.
