HYPHA Project launches Metatheion IPA – Canadian Beer News
VANCOUVER, BC – HYPHA projecta Vancouver collective that aims to be “a celebration of beer, art + community,” has announced its latest release.
IPA Metatheion (6.5% abv):
Metatheion is an experimental Northeast-style double dry-hopped IPA brewed with a new product called Phantasm, a powder created from the skins of Sauvignon Blanc grapes in New Zealand. When Phantasm powder is combined with a very special custom-developed strain of yeast – BOOM! It is processed into juicy flavor compounds. Although it does not replace traditional hops, it provides a great boost to the tropical notes desired in a modern IPA. This beer is double dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops to accompany the Phantasm.
Metatheion’s packaging features artwork from Brother Jopawhich provides the following artist statement:
The goal of this label was to create something impactful, and I loved the concept of a cold beer housed in a fiery label. The lettering in the design is my modern take on shapes inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphs and East Asian calligraphy. To further contextualize the lettering, the name is accompanied by two symbols that represent crucial elements for the brewing process – Earth and Air.
Metatheion is available now at select beer retailers in British Columbia and Alberta, and can be ordered for home delivery via Beer Van.
