Creative capital: Queen Macaron of Singapore now creates colorful clothes “with love”

I’m designing all the products right now, but you can imagine running a business wouldn’t be possible without a team or collaboration. I hope to extend it in the future.

Our values guide the type of products we manufacture, whether ready-to-wear, made-to-measure or made-to-measure. This allows us to be more aware of the quality and quantity of the products we manufacture. We abhor wasted production scraps and collaborate with like-minded organizations to create employment opportunities

I try to start my day early at 6:30 am. I drop my kids off at school before leaving for a quick breakfast. I’m usually at the office at 7:30 a.m.

My to-do list includes planning and posting branded social media content, planning and testing designs, reducing supply and production orders, resolving quality issues, researching new designs and new materials, as well as the fulfillment and packaging of customer orders.

If I can’t finish work in the office, which I often do, I take it home, skipping lunch while I continue to check my kids on their schedules by getting them to where they need to be.

Along with the reshuffle, I might have staff meetings or discussions with outside parties at least three to five times a week to check on how things are going on other sides of the company.

In the evening, I check that dinner has been prepared. Our whole family gets together for the meal, which is so important since it is the only meal we have together.

After my husband and I put the kids to sleep, I usually finish more work – smocking, sewing bows and accessories, answering customer questions and preparing to fulfill customer orders via our courier services. . I’m usually in bed at midnight or 1 a.m.

Even though I sometimes work on weekends, I try to find a balance since it’s my time with the children. We do our best to be free to study and work for at least 24 hours. Weekly rest has become so essential.

Design-wise, we’re known for our range of hand-smocked heirloom dresses, each named after Royal Princesses: Charlotte, Victoria, Eleanor and Alexandra. Our Narumi dress with Broderie Anglaise collar and our bespoke Carina smocked cheongsams for women are also in demand.
