Can you tell the difference between Marvel character and font names?

Being able to tell the difference between superhero names and fonts should be easy, right? Well, a Marvel-themed quiz has surfaced online that might prove you wrong, as users are asked about fonts and heroes – and it’s a lot harder than you might think.

Superheroes are renowned for having interesting and recognizable names, just like fonts. The similarities between the names made it difficult for users to decipher between the heroes and the police in a fun online test. The quiz challenges users to tell the difference between Marvel characters and font names, and you will be surprised to know that the quiz is actually quite difficult. If you’re looking for font inspiration, be sure to check out our roundup of the best free fonts.

Auckland-based software developer Carl Smith is the mastermind behind this hilarious quiz. With its vibrant cartoon-style website, visitors are challenged to see if they can tell their Draxs from their Futuras. We have to admit that the quiz is so much harder than you might think, as Marvel fans with a fairly extensive knowledge of fonts we have only been able to score 14 out of 20 so far.

Is Revenge a powerful mutant assassin or a smart, professional typeface? Is Allura a demonic-looking supervillain or an elegant handwriting font? Outside of the context of a comic book or font collection, it’s incredibly difficult (and certainly fun) to try to distinguish characters from fonts.
