8 Irish Design Studios With Pretty Stationery

Are you looking for unique wedding invitations that look like you? These local design studios offer a range of great stationery, as well as bespoke options.

Ah, the wedding invitations – that item on my to-do list that somehow gets more and more pushed. Unlike securing providers, it’s not as simple as sending a few emails and figuring out your favorite available on the date.

Finding the right invitations takes time. The first choice, of course, depends on how much time and creativity you have.

My dearest friend is a graphic designer, so she took on the challenge of designing her own invitations. On the other hand, I’m not that digitally savvy and have scoured Instagram and wedding websites for standout designers who are also stylish and unique.

These Irish stationary studios offer great invitation designs and creative options, where you can work alongside the designer to realize the vision you have in mind. (This is a great option for those who already know exactly what they want, but can’t find it online!)

Tip: If you’re hesitant to commit, try the design studio for your Save the Dates, and if you like them, you’ll know they’re the perfect fit as a wedding invitation supplier.

Calligraphy by MCW

If you are looking for a personal touch, Calligraphy by MCW is a fantastic choice. Based in Dublin and London, the studio was founded by modern calligrapher Marie-Clare Whelan, specializing in personalized wedding invitation suites and stationery.

Each invitation includes handwritten details and beautiful finishes. Plus, each wedding package can be tailored to different budgets, including Save the Dates, invitations, detail cards, envelope lettering and, the day of, venue names, table names, signage and more.

Hannah Blake

good artist Hannah Blake has harnessed her talents with watercolor painting for the good of the wedding world, creating beautiful bespoke designs for wedding stationery. And she does it on sustainably sourced paper.

For a recent garden wedding, she designed a delicate watercolor of the bride’s family home for the front of the invitation. She then added willow branches (which frame the property) to the info and rsvp card to tie the suite together.

If you have trouble making decisions, Dore-lili has some nice backdrops for you to choose from. Designed by Catherine, the contemporary design studio has a portfolio that stretches back over a decade, with rave reviews along the way.

There are four main ranges, which you can choose to personalize to your liking, with a selection of fonts, colours, papers, envelopes, wax seals, ribbons and Swarovski embellishments.

Appleberry workshop

Need an invitation as luxurious as your room? apple workshop is just the ticket. They specialize in sophisticated designs with special details like gold foil letterpress, handmade colored foil, tassels, foil and wax seals.

Keep in mind, however, that these elevated invitations are offered from a starting budget of €2,500. Due to this level of detail, they only work with a limited number of bespoke clients each year, so apply as soon as possible.

’til dawn dear

Would you describe yourself and your partner as fanciful? If that is the case, ’til dawn dear offers a different take on wedding invitations that really stands out from the crowd. Each is illustrated by award-winning designer and nature enthusiast Kitty Moss.

She starts by asking about your favorite memories, times, places, etc. – then draft a beautiful illustration that captures your essence as a couple. It’s a fun way to personalize your invitations without making them too tacky. Scroll through her gallery here.
